Geriatrics – Geriatric physiotherapy is aimed at the specific needs of senior clients. Because our bodies change physiologically as they age, trained physiotherapists must be aware of this and how it can impact the patient’s mobility and functionality. Physiotherapy is effective in maintaining movement and independence in a patient’s advanced years.

Kinesiotaping – Kinesiotaping is a definitive taping technique designed to rehabilitate injured patients and facilitate the body’s natural healing process. At the same time, it provides support and stability to aching muscles and joints without restricting movement. It is safe for patients of all ages and has been used effectively to treat a variety of neuromuscular and neurological conditions. Kinesiotaping relieves pain and helps improve lymphatic drainage.

Laser therapy – Low level laser therapy has been found to be effective in reducing inflammation and pain in many patients by non-thermal absorption of photons by cells. It is used mainly on such painful conditions as bursitis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and certain sports injuries.

Lower extremities mechanics – Achilles’’ tendinitis, patellar tendinitis and other instabilities in the ankle, knee, foot and hip can impact our quality of life. Often one injury leads to others as we compensate for pain by overworking another area that isn’t hurting. After a thorough evaluation of the source of your lower extremity pain, we will work to devise a customized treatment plan to reduce pain and inflammation and get you back to your normal walking as quickly as possible.

Massage therapy – Our registered massage therapists can relieve pain and promote healing through various modalities of massage therapy, which is essentially the manipulation of both superficial and deeper muscle layers and connective tissue. We provide soft tissue massage, manual stretching and joint mobilization. Each type of massage therapy prescribed is designed to evoke a particular result. For example, soft tissue massage focuses on the muscles and is often successful in reducing chronic pain. Relaxation massages involves relieving muscle tension, which often has a therapeutic effect on stress.
